Northern Spotted Owl

Bark – Editing, Layout, and Design
“ACTION ALERT: Spotted owl habitat under fire!”

My role was to edit this piece and get it out to Bark’s list ASAP in order to stop a proposed logging operation that was threatening Northern Spotted Owl habitat on Mt. Hood.

Client: Bark is a Portland 501(c)(3) working to protect Mt. Hood National Forest.

Project Description: Edit, upload, and layout a special “Action Alert” email so it’s ready to go out to Bark supporters. Also format the web version of the newsletter.

The Inside Scoop

My role was to edit this piece and get it out to Bark’s list ASAP in order to stop a proposed logging operation that was threatening Northern Spotted Owl habitat on Mt. Hood.

However, I not only had to edit it, I also had to provide the design and layout for the piece both in email and on the web.

I also produced the “Go Hiking with Bark” image using a photo from one of Bark’s public hikes, and some fancy Photoshop magic. For the letter coloring I took color samples from the photo itself.

My Favorite Part

Definitely protecting the homes of endangered woodland creatures. Well, that and the “Go Hiking with Bark” image—it looks so inviting.
