Project Description: Build a portfolio site with blog functionality for fellow freelance writer Justin Williams.

The Inside Scoop

Justin wanted a site with a blog and a portfolio of his writing samples.

Toward that end, I built out the site to include a custom post type for his clips. For the design, we also worked on a simple way to organize his blog and portfolio separately from one another.

Justin also requested that I create a logo featuring a frog. The symbolism of the frog, in particular the glass frog, was important to Justin’s branding, so I set to work creating an image capable of representing his business.

I chose to have the frog emerging from a circular frame to keep it lighthearted. Justin wanted a really bright green for the frog, so I used a reddish-brown earth tone for the frame to (quite literally) ground the image.
