Soon after I was promoted to Interim Grassroots Organizer at Bark, our office burned down. As I’m sure you can imagine, this came as a bit of a surprise, and somewhat of an inconvenience. (The fire, not the promotion.)
Client: Bark is a Portland 501(c)(3) working to protect Mt. Hood National Forest.
Project Description: Edit, upload, and layout Bark’s email newsletter so it’s ready to go out to supporters. Additionally, format the web version of the newsletter and “Action Page.”
The Inside Scoop
Soon after I was promoted to Interim Grassroots Organizer at Bark, our office burned down.
As I’m sure you can imagine, this came as a bit of a surprise, and somewhat of an inconvenience. (The fire, not the promotion.)
Fortunately, through the incredible support Bark receives from the community, we were able to relocate into a new office across the street more or less the following week.
This email is the message Bark sent out to supporters to appraise them as to the events of the fire. Since we had no office at that time, I edited the piece remotely in conjunction with the Executive Director, Alex Brown.
My Favorite Part
The fact that even with the office burned down and everything in total and complete chaos, Bark kept their eye on their mission of protecting Mt. Hood National Forest. Right on!
