Project Description: Create bilingual business cards. With a samurai design. Yes, you read that right!

The Inside Scoop

I met Tamura-san at an event hosted by Hiroshima Interpreter’s for Peace. He was working as a volunteer tour guide for the event, and we got to talking.

As it turns out, he volunteers at quite a number of bilingual events around Hiroshima, but didn’t have a card to represent his services. I guess he liked my new card okay, because after seeing it he asked me to design his.

Of course, I was delighted to oblige him.

We met in a café and discussed some options. I believe the conversation went something like this.

Tamura-san: “Can you put a samurai on it?”

Me: “Can I please???”

And the rest is history.

My Favorite Part
